Birthdays everywhere

Lots and lots of birthdays lately, including my son's yesterday, so I thought I would post his card and another I made for my daughter's friend today.

I have been suffering a little from a lack of inspiration, even though I have new toys to play with.   It may just be burnout from uni, hopefully after a few days of nothing I will find my mojo.   Anyway, I ended up casing myself.   Cards which I have made before that with a few minor changes are easily reproduced and still look great.

Won't put recipes in here today, they are fairly self explanatory just by having a look at the pictures.

Cheers

Hospital wishes

Two ladies I know recently had surgery, both one day after the other, and both life altering.    I wanted to send them both something special to let them know I was thinking of them and to offer words of encouragement.   I love easel cards at the moment and came up with these two, quite different in terms of colour schemes but both equally lovely in my opinion.

Hope you enjoy looking at them.

The first:

Card recipe:
Cardstock:   Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery, Very Vanilla, Basic Black
Ink:  Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery
DSP:   Subtles DSP Stack, Newsprint
Embellishments:   Basic Black Grossgrain Striped Ribbon, Organza Ribbon (hand coloured), Smooch Spritz, Basic Pearls, Butterfly embosslits, Scallop Trim border punch, Sentiment printed on computer

The second

Recipe:
Cardstock:  Baja breeze, soft suede, very vanilla, sahara sand, basic grey
DSP:  Elegant Soiree
Embellishments:  Beautiful Butterflies Embosslits, Basic Pearls,  Scallop trim border,Crochet trim lace, sentiment printed on computer,

Both ladies have messaged me and said they loved them so Im really chuffed.

Anyway, hope you like them too

JAI colour challenge

This weeks challenge over at Just Add Ink was a colour challenge using these colours

My daughter asked me quite nicely on Saturday to quickly make a card for a birthday party she was attending the next day - what better use of the JAI challenge, especially since it was a male birthday card.

I had to substitute the Not Quite Navy for Night of Navy but otherwise all the colours are the same.   A little twine and a sizzlets lots of tags die and the card was made in a jiffy.    It's a simple design but I think it is quite effective.   For some reason the photography didn't quite do it justice - the certainly celery didn't come out quite right but oh well.

Hope you like it.
